If the intensity of this wine’s rich red hue recalls theatrical velvets, its aromatic profile rather suggests an almost visceral depth that is anything but superficial. The flavour, too, is to be read in this voluptuous, meaty vein, with its notes of leather and a juicy finale of brandied cherries.
